Saving you time, and money and minimising the risk of contamination, these sterilised millet grain bags have you covered. We hydrate our millet grain for 24 hours, drain it and then dry it just enough to boost mycelial growth. With a handy injection port included with each bag, just use your choice of spore syringe or liquid culture to inoculate them and you’re all set.  

All of our grain bags are sterilised in our medical-grade autoclave for 2 hours and 30 minutes, with a pressure of at least 15 PSI. This gives our blocks enough time at a minimum of 121º to reach the centre of the bag, ensuring all micro-organisms are killed off. We then open the autoclave inside our cleanroom and heat seal the grain bags in front of a laminar flow hood to stop any contaminants from getting in.

To start growing mycelium with these millet bags, using aseptic technique, wipe the injection ports with the included 70% isopropyl wipes, then attach the needles to your chosen liquid cultures/spore syringes and sterilise the tip of the needle. From there, insert your syringes into the injection-ports and inject around 5-10cc of liquid (depending on spores/culture) into each bag.
