All-In-One Mushroom Bag FAQs:
What is an all-in-one mushroom grow bag?
An all-in-one bag refers to the growing medium inside of the mushroom grow bag. Unlike other techniques which involve growing your mycelium on grain, before transferring it to substrate later – all-in-one mushroom bags contain the grain and substrate ‘all in one’ inside the bag. This is great if you’re after a quicker harvest, as you can fruit your mushrooms inside the bag without needing to transfer from grain to substrate, just inject & forget.
How long do all-in-one grow bags take to grow?
It’ll take 4-6 weeks for your all-in-one mushroom grow bag to finish colonising before it can begin fruiting. You’ll know that the bag is ready to cut open once it is fully covered in white mycelium.
Where should I put my all-in-one mushroom grow bag?
When it comes to storing your all-in-one mushroom grow bag, you’ll want to keep it in a cool, dark and dry place – like a kitchen cupboard.
When you’ve inoculated your bag with genetics, move it to a space that can consistently support the correct temperature for the strain you are cultivating. Room temperature usually does the trick.
How long will my all-in-one mushroom grow bag last?
For best results, inoculate your all-in-one mushroom grow bag within 6 weeks of purchase. These bags are best used fresh but will happily grow healthy mycelium if used within 12 months when stored correctly.
When should I shake my all-in-one mushroom grow bag?
Once around 20% of the bag has been colonised with healthy mycelium, gently break it up from the outside of the bag and mix it together to speed up the rate of colonisation.
How big will the yield from my all-in-one mushroom bag be?
The yield that your all-in-one mushroom grow bag will produce will depend on the strain that you are cultivating. But generally, you can expect between 200g-400g of fresh mushrooms across multiple flushes from our 1.5kg all-in-one bag.
Do these bags include a syringe?
These all-in-one mushroom grow bags do not include genetics – they just contain the sterile grain and substrate for growing mycelium. However, you can inoculate them with almost any strain using spore syringes or liquid cultures.
