Commercial Mushroom Fruiting Block FAQs:
What are ready-to-fruit mushroom blocks?
Ready-to-fruit blocks are fully colonised growing substrates containing live mushroom mycelium. Once opened and placed in suitable humidity and airflow, they begin producing mushrooms within days.
Which species do you offer?
We currently offer branched oyster, tarragon oyster, coral tooth, reishi, and velvet shank (enoki) blocks. All are cultivated from UK-native cultures and produced in our sterile facilities. If you're looking for something specific, please reach out and we can produce exactly what you need.
Can I order larger quantities or different species?
Absolutely. If you'd like to place a larger orde than what's available on site, or would prefer us to use different species, please contact us for a quote.
How should the blocks be stored before fruiting?
We recommend using our mushroom fruiting blocks upon delivery. However, If you need to store them, mushroom blocks should be kept in a cool, dark environment, at temps between 2°C until they are ready to be placed in fruiting conditions. Avoid freezing or prolonged exposure to heat.
What yields can I expect from ready-to-fruit blocks?
Mushroom fruiting block yields will depend on many factors including, species, humidity, airflow, and the number of flushes achieved. Mushroom fruiting blocks usually provide a larger yield on the first flush, and smaller yields on further flushes, with 2-3 flushes being typical. Under optimal conditions, growers can expect a wet mushroom yield of 20-30% of the wet substrate weight across multiple flushes.
Do you ship throughout the UK?
Yes, we can ship these mushroom fruiting blocks throughout the UK. Depending on the volume of blocks ordered, they may arrive on a pallet. If they are delivered on a pallet, we may check with you to ensure there is suitable access for delivery.
