Save yourself mess, time and money, whilst minimising the risk of contamination by grabbing our 10 x Rye 1.5kg Sterile Grain Bags Bulk Bundle. We soak, simmer and drain our rye grains and they’re perfectly hydrated to support mycelial growth. Thanks to their handy injection ports, you can inoculate these bags with plenty of strains using your choice of spore syringes or liquid cultures.

Each grain bag is sterilised in our medical-grade autoclave for 2 hours and 30 minutes, with a pressure of at least 15 PSI. This gives our blocks enough time at a minimum of 121º to reach the centre of the bag, ensuring all micro-organisms are killed off. We then heat seal the grain bags in front of a laminar flow hood to stop any contaminants from getting in.

To start growing mycelium with these rye bags: Using aseptic technique, wipe the injection ports with the included 70% isopropyl wipes, then attach the needles to your chosen liquid cultures/spore syringes and sterilise the tips of the needle (at your own risk). From there, insert your syringes into the injection ports and inject around 5-10cc of liquid (depending on spores/culture) per bag.
